After months of working together online and from different corners of the country, something really special happened in January - our team finally came together in person for the very first Family Volunteering Club staff away day.
From as far as Glasgow, Cardiff and Manchester - our Local Coordinators travelled to spend the day together learning, sharing and making plans for the future of our wonderful local programmes. Being in the same room also gave us time to reflect, connect and celebrate just how far we’ve come together.
What began just a few years ago has grown into a passionate and expanding team, all driven by a belief in the power of family volunteering to create lasting change. Seeing that growth reflected in a room full of committed, thoughtful and inspiring people was incredibly moving.
We were proud to host our first staff away day at the Pears Foundation, who are one of our main partners.
We left the day buzzing and full of pride, hope and thoughtful conversations, with a deep respect for one another… and, it has to be said, slightly fuelled by sugary snacks and a very real sandwich-induced carb coma.
We can’t wait to see what we’ll build next, together.
