Gofod3 - taking part!

Family Volunteering Club Wales team was proud to take part in this year's Gofod3 conference on 17th June, the annual event for Wales's voluntary sector, held in Cardiff.

During the conference, members of our Wales team delivered an interactive workshop highlighting their work to expand family volunteering opportunities across Cardiff, Conwy and Wrexham. The session was led by our CEO, Maddy, alongside Local Coordinators, Steven, Vera and Ashley, plus Dr Ali Body, who shared the latest insights from FVC's current research project exploring the impact of family volunteering on families, communities and volunteering participation.

The workshop provided delegates with an opportunity to learn more about how family volunteering can help create meaningful experiences for people of all ages while strengthening local communities.

Later in the day, Maddy joined a panel discussion as part of WCVA's New Approach to Volunteering session. The event explored how the voluntary sector can develop more inclusive, flexible and accessible volunteering opportunities, with family volunteering included as an important way to engage new audiences and remove barriers to participation.

Throughout the day, the conference provided valuable opportunities to connect with organisations and individuals from across Wales, share ideas and celebrate the innovation taking place across the voluntary sector. It was an inspiring event that reinforced the importance of collaboration in creating stronger, more connected communities.
