About The Event

Join us in the Wild Garden at Roots and Shoots to help look after the garden in high summer. Parents and children will work together to help Roots and Shoots' garden thrive, whilst learning about nature and caring for living things.

In July, we will focus on gardening tasks like:

  • Saving poppy seeds

  • Watering and feeding plants to help them with the summer heat

  • Rehoming the remaining aquarium-raised tadpoles – gently catching and releasing tadpoles and baby froglets into our big pond, along with any other pond creatures who live with them too

Sessions are run by one of our lovely horticulture team, so all family volunteers can get stuck in regardless of age or gardening experience. All tools are provided, and we advise wearing comfy clothes that families are happy to get a bit muddy in, and to dress for the weather whether that's sun hats or raincoats!
