Join us at Gables Care Home to share a fun afternoon with other families and residents! Together we will enjoy traditional garden games, tea and cake, and an arts and crafts table. This is part of our special programme celebrating The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out 2026.

About The Event
An intergenerational volunteering session at Gables Care Home – part of The Big Help Out & The Big Lunch – featuring traditional garden games, tea and cake, plus an arts and crafts table.
Families and care home residents will work side by side to help run a relaxed, cheerful afternoon outdoors. Volunteers will:
Set up and supervise simple garden games such as bean bag toss, skittles, and hoopla
Serve light refreshments (tea, cake, and soft drinks)
Assist with crafts suitable for all ages
Along the way, there will be plenty of time for friendly chats and genuine connection. It’s a wonderful opportunity to build bonds between generations, bring joy to residents at Gables, and give back as a family.
