Past event - Flutterby Butterflies at Roots and Shoots

Join us for a fluttery lovely morning as we help with planting to encourage butterflies and moths at Roots and Shoots, and learn more about these wonderful insects from Butterfly Conservation. There will also be a minibeast hunt!

Roots and Shoots provides vocational training for young people from the inner city, mainly from the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. Alongside this training they involve local schools and the wider community by establishing our site as an important green space for urban biodiversity.  Butterfly Conservation is a British charity devoted to saving butterflies, moths and their habitats throughout the UK.

Useful info:

• This session is taking place outdoors, however you will be asked to adhere to social distancing and use hand sanitiser during. You are kindly asked not to attend if you or any of your household are displaying, or you have been in contact with anyone with symptions of coronavirus.
• The session is most suitable for ages 2+ but babes in slings / buggies are welcome too.
• Spaces are free, though spaces are limited please book in advance.
• When booking please select one space per person (whether adult or child).
• All children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Equipment will be provided but please wear clothes suitable for getting dirty!
