About The Event
Join us at Crowcroft Park, Longsight Art Space for a wonderful family workshop all about garden birds! Children aged 2-9 will discover the birds that visit the garden, learn to identify them from a colourful poster, and tune in to the sounds of the garden – what birds can we hear?
We'll talk about what birds eat and how we can create natural habitats for them to feed. Then, it's time to get hands-on! Families will work together to make natural bird feeders using pine cones, seeds, and sunflower butter – a safe, nut-free treat for the garden birds at the park.
Session Schedule:
11:00 – 11:15 – Registration and welcome
11:15 – 11:45 – Bird talk: identify garden birds, listen for their calls, learn about their diets, and discover how to create natural feeding habitats
11:45 – 11:55 – Refreshment break
