About The Event
Roll up your sleeves and help us plant a beautiful new wildflower meadow using seed bombs that we have made, which will grow to nurture lots of insects and wildlife next spring. We will also be doing some 'seed saving' and making origami paper envelopes to keep the seeds in.
St John’s churchyard garden welcomes hundreds of people a day including local residents, dog walkers, students and office workers taking lunch breaks, commuters going to and from Waterloo Station and passers-by who step in from the street to find themselves in an unexpected oasis of calm. It’s also a place where homeless people spend time, where students with special needs learn horticulture skills and during the annual Waterloo Festival it’s the setting for exhibitions, jazz concerts and community tea parties.
